XMP / Metadata from Adobe Bridge – How to make searchable in Windows
Hey everyone. This is my first post, so hopefully, I’m handling this properly. I was wondering if I could ask you for your expertise in solving a challenge regarding creating a digital asset management system for my job. I’m having some difficulties viewing XMP/Metadata in Windows. I’ve added metadata to my files using Adobe Bridge on my Mac. When I transfer those files and perform a search for them on my Windows system, using the basic search function, that computer can’t locate the files based on the metadata I added using the Mac. I can’t seem to find a straight answer online. I don’t want to seem too forward in asking something which may be a trade secret, but I’d love to pick everyone’s brain on the matter if they’re willing and have a free sec. If anyone has any knowledge in this area, would you be willing to help a guy out? Ultimately, I’m trying to create a system where Mac and Windows users can locate any video files based on the metadata I’ve added using either the Finder on a Mac or the search function in Windows, so they can easily locate any video file. I’m not sure about where all these files will be stored yet (Mac and/or Windows), as I’ve haven’t gotten that far into the process. Thanks in advance.
