I just did a whole 30 sec editing on BMCC footage sot at 23.98.

Now I hear on an other forum that its should really be 23.976, can any one confirm if this is right? and if so, should I re set my comp to 23.976 and need to re-edit?

23.98 is the shorthand for 23.976 and shouldn’t really be a difference in the NLE.

Michael is correct about most NLEs using 23.98 as shorthand for 23.976. However, in an app like After Effects, I believe you can set 23.98 as a frame rate and that would cause problems.

    OK, but still The

Black Magic cinema Camera has a frame rate selection and says 23.98

My original question is if this is really 23.976? or is it like it
    says 23.98?

I will bet a large sum of something that from a camera’s perspective, it is really 23.976 and is shorthand for space considerations in menu selection or something like that.
