  • Chapter Markers?

    Hi All

Happy Friday! I have a series of 25 90-minute videos edited in FCPX. The client is asking for DVDs to be authored. Each DVD will have about 20-30 chapters.

They’ve indicated where each chapter will be using time codes.

I’m having an outside author these DVDs. They use Encore for authoring. (They edit on Premier)

My question is If I add Chapter markers in FCPX and export ProRes 422 files, will these markers work within Encore? Is FCPX compatible with Encore?

    Thanks.

I do believe if you export a QT using Compressor with chapter markers intact, that will transfer over if imported into Premiere.
But that was years ago so of late I have no idea.
I can check in the next few hours.

I never made it work in Encore but I might have been doing something wrong!

Would an XML file of the edit carry over the markers?

I found some time to test this with recent software.
From FCPX 10.4.3 to QT/FCPXML (used Xto7) then Premiere Pro CC2019, I can see the markers.
I then tried ProRes/MPG to Encore and nothing works.
I am not sure when they broke this but I was able to do this in the past.
Its been so long since I’ve done any media with Chapter Markers.
