Importing 60 FPS into 30 FPS project – missing something….
Hello Forum,
I seem to be missing something here – I am shooting at 60 fps and what I want to do is import into a 30 FPS project so that all of the footage plays at half speed. The reason for this is that it is drone footage and my pans are sometimes too fast and I can’t seem to slow them down in FCPX without jitter. I figure if I shoot at 60 – then I can speed everything else up as needed and keep the slow stuff nice and smooth. Problem is – when I import it into a project – the clip still reads 60 fps, but nothing is slow mo and when I cut it to half speed it still jitters.
What am I missing here?

How are you slowing the clip down? Choose the Retime icon below the viewer, then from the pop up menu, choose “Automatic Speed”. The clip should now be playing back all 60 frames in slow motion.
