    I hope I explain this correctly…

    I work on Final Cut X 10.4.5

I work with MLB, and in past years when taking in video clips via SD card or Sony EX3 camera media cards, I was able to see multitude of individual clips of players batting or pitching on my hard drive, where I had sent the media too. However, this year, I haven’t changed any settings, but I can now only see the purple library icon.

Before I was able to see every clip the camera man shot, and file it appropriately, or find it immediately after renaming it. Nowadays I have to go through the complete library to a specific day, to actually find a certain clip that is is needed. This is very inconvenient, as this need to be completed quickly at times..

Any thought or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you project storage options are set to manage media and store it internaly rather than externaly.
