  FCPX Backup freeze

  Hey guys,

  Wondering if anybody else is experiencing what I am now, and if they have a solution better than my temp fix.

  Every time FCPX does is regular background back up, it stays on 0% for about 2 minutes then backs up. It seems to be trying to back up more often also. unless it’s just because it’s taking so much longer to do so the time between backups feels smaller.

  The problem with this is that it locks up when this is happening…meaning I cannot do anything. Anything at all. If i try…I get that lovely spinning wheel of death.

  My current work around is to just turn off the library backups and every so often turn it back on for a backup.
  Obviously this isn’t good and makes me anxious.

  I recently updated FCPX to the latest version (10.4.5) and also Mojave (10.14).

  Try trashing your prefs.

  Then change your backup location to see if that works any better.

  Also, make sure all your third party plugins are up to date, if you have any.
