  • Is macOS Mojave Ready for FCPX?

Posted by Ken Bennett on November 29, 2018 at 6:00 pm

I never jump on the latest versions of anything due to those “untested bugs” that always pop up, but is the macOS Mojave update worthy to FCPX 10.4.4? What are the REAL benefits of Mojave?

    Thanks.

[Ken Bennett] “What are the REAL benefits of Mojave?”

    It’s a desert, not a rock formation?

BorixFX has stated that Continuum Complete is not (yet) Mojave compatible. It’s quite possible this won’t be fixed until the FCPX version of Continuum 2019 is released.

    Where was Continuum Complete mentioned?

[Gary Huff] “Where was Continuum Complete mentioned?”

On the BorisFX site of course.
    https://borisfx.com/faq/macos-mojave/

Boris Continuum Complete for Avid Media Composer, FCPX or any OFX supported host (Nuke, Resolve, Vegas, etc) is NOT currently supported for macOS Mojave (10.14). Please refrain from updating to this new operating system if you plan on using the Continuum suite of plug-ins. Continuum continues to work as expected in macOS 10.11 (El Capitan), 10.12 (Sierra), 10.13 (High Sierra). Please refer to the Continuum compatibility matrix for further information.

    All hosts, not FCPX specific.

I mean in this thread. How do we go from asking if FCPX performance under Mojave to Boris Continuum Complete?

Some people use plugins. I’ve see too many people upgrade an OS because FCPX works only to discover mission critical plugins break. Unless one is “plugin free” you really need to confirm with each developer.

[Craig Seeman] “Some people use plugins.”

They do. Not all of them using Continuum Complete. I don’t. The OP doesn’t mention Continuum Complete.
