Is there a way to “bounce or freeze” clips
Hey guys, sorry for my terminology but i come from an audio world mainly. I like in Ableton live how i can just freeze a clip which locks in all the effects etc into one simple .wav file. My question is if there is a way to do this to a video clip? I love speed ramping with drone footage but sometimes looks very shaky and needs stabilisation. If i click stabilisation, it takes for ever as its obviously doing it to every frame and doesn’t work how i want it to. I have been exporting it as a 25p clip then reimporting then adding stabilisation which works. Is there any way we can just do this without exporting/reimporting? Compound clips doesn’t work.

FCPX always applies stabilisation to the full clip. What you’re currently doing is probably the best way to just apply it to a shortened section. I do most of my stabilisation in Resolve or Mocha so I’m not sure if there are any third party plugins that just work on the used portion of the clip.
