how can i preview .movie file in real time
guys im new to after effects getting my way around it so far. question is i captured my footage using final cut pro and im trying to work on some of the clips in after effects and when i import one of these clips everything seems to be ok but the playback is so slow and no sound how can i fix this? thanks

The “B” key will set your workspace in-point. The “N” key sets workspace out point. Pressing “0” on your number keypad will start a RAM preview, where each framed(in the preview area) will be rendered to your RAM.
This preview will render both audio and video. To preview audio only, press “.” on your number keypad.

im using a mac and i have that little keyboard(bluetooth) doesnt have a numeric pad so how can i get this accomplshed? and thanks again

i tried what u said for some reason i cant get it to work now remember i captured this video clip with final cut pro 7 from a canon xha1 camcorder so i dont know if this info helps. I also have adobe premiere cs5 installed on my mac,will it be easier for me to to work on my video in after efx if i capture my video with premiere? if so please let me know what exactly i need to do i tried everything but the preview now plays for a few seconds then goes back to playing slowly.
