I’m purchasing some .mov footage online and my system is adding a jpeg extension after the .mov making it unrecognizable. Anyone now how to fix this? XXXXX.mov.jpeg

I’ve downloaded QT movies for decades and never had this problem.

Maybe you are downloading the thumbnail and not the actual video?

What happens when you rename the clip to just .mov? Is it happening with .mov files from everywhere or just the one site? It’s possible the web site has something that is making Safari misinterpret the file type and break the downloads, so maybe try downloading the files with a different browser.
