    Hello,   ????
    I use FCP X and Motion 5.
I want to draw an object or import a small object like a basketball.
The basketball will move from left to right across the screen.
To emphasize the action I want a blurry trail in the shape of a basketball following the main object.  It will gradually fade out.   Then when I move from right to left, it makes a trail on the other side of the object.

Sort of like in slow motion..
What is a good effect that I could use?

    Thanks for your help.
    Terry

You could move the ball around in FCP X using the position parameters or the free “Smooth Move” plug-in. Make a compound clip. Then apply to it a Motion Effect template using the “Trails” Effect. Publish all the parameters for use in FCP X. I think that would do what you want.
