  Date Counting Down Without Year

  I need to have the date count back 6 months, day by day, showing the DAY, MONTH & NUMBER (e.g. Saturday, April 3) without the year. I was using Numbers>Long Date, but I don’t want to “year date” the project.

  I’ve looked through Numbers and various tutorials on working around Numbers limitations, but they all focus on controlling numbers (like on an odometer), not dates.

  Is this possible?

  Perhaps you could just mask out the year element of the plugin?

  If that doesn’t work you could look at Digital Anarchy’s Text Anarchy plugin for After Effects which is more flexible than the built-in Numbers plug-in that you’re currently using;

  Hey Angie,

  Thanks for replying! I went with the mask; had to align the text right, otherwise the year bounced around all over the place making masking too much of a bother. It isn’t perfect, but it works.

  Thanks for the link: I’m going to check that out and see if that doesn’t offer something better — if not for this project, for the next — as Numbers is just too limited.
