Importing from Panasonic AG-HPX600
Posted by Lars Hogeus on April 13, 2017 at 9:04 amHi, I´m importing from the Panasonic AG-HPX600.
FCPX separates video and audio to separate files.
Is there a solution to avoid that?
Thanks, Lars

April 13, 2017 at 3:09 pmHi,
I put the P2 card in a reader, then drag and drop the complete folder in finder, to my Promise Pegasus drive.
In FCPX I press command I, and import all.
I have also tried to drag and drop the folder from finder to FCPX.
In both cases FCPX creates Keyword collections för VIDEO, AUDIO and ICONS.
The video files is only video, and audio files is only audio.

April 13, 2017 at 6:23 pmTry mounting the card and selecting as media in the import window not just dumping all files into an event

April 13, 2017 at 9:23 pmIsn´t that what I´m doing when using command I?
As I described before, I´ve tried both drag and drop, and the import window.

April 14, 2017 at 1:42 amBut are you selecting file names or actually seeing full clips with frames in the Import window? It sounds like you’re dragging in the entirety of the card which is why you’re getting separate pieces of media.
That said I’ve heard of this issue before I believe you need a driver from Panasonic to resolve it:

April 14, 2017 at 4:55 amA strange thing is that can only see files, not folders, in the import window.
That´s for everything, example Canon C300 and Sony F5.
I will try the driver later.
Thanks, Lars

What version of MacOS / FCPX are you running?
