Advice for how to make archival text pop on screen?
I’m finishing a piece and I have a few archival images that have text I want the reader to read. I’ve used masks to shade the background and have highlighted only the text. That said, any other editing advice for how to make text pop on screen? Any aesthetic or technical thoughts would be great!

Try picking the colors using a monochrome monitor setting.
Because 2 colors can look very different at first, but under the B&W filter, you see they are too close in “value” so the letters don’t “pop” off the background the way they should if you’re using real complimentary colors. This helps color-blind people read the words easier as well.
You can throw a glint or spotlight beam across the lettering in combination with reducing the brightness of the background and adding blur.
