  Export Vimeo File (1080P) to my External Hard drive

  I have a 12 minute project that I want to export as a Vimeo file (1080P) onto my external hard drive. I am going to give that Vimeo file to a friend who will then post it under his Vimeo account.

  I go to Share File and hit the Vimeo button. It tells me to sign in. I don’t want to do that.

  What is the best and easiest way to just export the project as a Vimeo file (1080P) to my external drive?

  Vimeo is going to take your uploaded file and transcode it into their preferred format(s) for versioning.

  Just do an X standard export at ProRes 422 HQ at 1920×1080 and upload that.

  Unless your timeline media raster is significantly smaller than that you’ll be fine.

  If you have compressor you can just use the compressor preset for Vimeo. There’s one that doesn’t do an upload at the end.
