• Apple Final Cut Pro

  Modify Audio to be at -12 db.

  Hi,

  If I am adjusting my audio tracks to peak at -12 or 16db, is there a way to Modify Audio and pick the db you want it to be be peaked at (I did this in FCP 7 all the time) or do I just have to keep adjusting the volume until I get it to where I want it?

  normalize. and broadcast safe. used to act as limiters. not sure why -12? why not -6? haven’t used 7 in a couple of years so I might be wrong.

  The answer can be found in the Audio Hard Limiter thread. Basically you set up the Compressor as a hard limiter and save the preset and then apply it to all of your audio clips with cut-n-paste, or else as a final step, make a compound clip of all of your audio clips and apply it to the compound clip before rendering.
