  FCPx & Apple Scripts

  Hiya,

  I’ve used the following script to create an iMessage when opens.

  tell application “Messages”
  send “FCPx has succesfully exported” to buddy “44777777777 of service “SMS”
  end tell

  This app should open when final cut pro has finished exported, because I’ve asked FCPx to open with this app, but it doesn’t do a thing.

  Any thoughts?

  I’ve in,y got the usual app debugging thoughts…

  I guess first question is does FCpX successfully launch other apps? If so, then does yor script work when launched on its own? If so, then I have no idea. Maybe check that your script is saved as an app rather than a script?

  I wrote something similar a while back although I haven’t used on a while. I used Automator and the notification centre to show the alert and Growl/Prowl to display the alert on my iPhone.

  Probably not much help but unless some Yosemite update has changed the way your script execute, it should work for you.

  – You saved the script in file format ‘application’? (uncheck the options ‘Show startup screen’ and ‘stay open after run handler’

  Thanks for the reply.

  FCPx successfully launches quicktime as standard and the script does work on it’s own from the programme its self
