  Pancake timeline?

  One productivity booster I’ve grown accustomed to in Premiere Pro is having 2 ‘stacked’ timelines always open.

  The top timeline would contain just my selects with edited in-out points.
  The bottom would be my master timeline.
  I simply drag and drop clips as needed, but always have my selects in view.

  Is there any way to duplicate this functionality in FCPX 10.1?

  Yes, but not in the same way. In X, you’d mark IN/OUTs on clips and create favorites (F). Then in the event browser, you sort by Favorites only. This shows only your selects. Then you drag and drop them (or use a shortcut for goodness sake) into your timeline.

  Yeah, thanks Andy. Finally figured that out last night. Now if Apple would just give us a way to create custom workspaces….
