  Synchronizing to long audio

  Novice question
  Ok, simply select the master audio and the video you want to sync in the browser and choose ‘synchronize’.

  But what if you video is say, only 30 seconds, but your master audio is 10 or 20 minutes long?
  You end up with a clip that is as long as your audio!!

  What I’ve been doing, which is probably incorrect, is dragging this new audio to a timeline, then using the blade tool to trim off the audio only portions of this new synced clip, then making a new compound clip from the result.

  Is there a better solution?
