Hello, I have a question about XAVC and colour depth. I am using the Sony F55 which is recording in XAVC at 100 mbps, color depth of 10-bits and 4:2:2 chroma. Right now, the only program I have to transcode this footage is FCPX. After Quicktimes are made with the XAVC codec, the colour depth comes up as “Millions of Colours”. Unless I am mistaken, XAVC should be “Trillions of Colours”. Does anyone know why my colour depth comes out this way?

What are you transcoding them to?

They are transcoded to XAVC QT’s in FCPX. FCPX doesn’t give me any options in the matter, it just starts transcoding immediately when I import the raw files.
