I’ve shot a simple cafe scene (dialogue) from three angles. Single camera, three separate clips. I recorded the audio on a Sound Devices 664 with three tracks: Lav 1, Lav 2, Boom mic.

So, I started by editing the shots to the main storyline which are quick cuts of various angles. I’m wondering if I should have made the SD 664 audio the main storyline and edited to that.

Any ideas as to best workflow?

I’d marry the picture and sound for your bought takes and then use those to edit. You will have to balance the audio cut to cut, but that shouldn’t be a big deal. The only time I put audio in the primary is if all I’m doing is editing picture against a prerecorded track.
