  Why are my Pro Res clips in the timeline still rendering??

  I must have some settings wrong. I optimize my media on import, but then when dropping clips into a timeline, the clips still require rendering (orange bar).
  Clip properties: 1080p 29.97 Stereo 48kHz Pro Res 422
  Project Properties: 1080p 29.97 Stereo 48kHz Pro Res 422

  Clips should not need to render, correct? (unless there’s filters, transitions,etc)

  Make sure your imported clips have fully been converted to ProRes (no background processes are active anymore).

  Then create a new Project and in the Project Properties window check the “Set Properties based on First Clip” option. Finally add a first clip to the Timeline, making sure this clip is a ProRes clip.

  When you create a new Project you first get a window where you can name your Project. In that window, next to Video Properties, you will see “Set based on first video clip”. Check that option then press OK.
