Colorista style 3-way color wheel numerical entry effect?
Posted by James Culbertson on April 22, 2013 at 12:48 amDoes a Colorista-style 3-way color wheel RGB numerical entry effect exist?
I can do this in MB Looks, but to have a stand-alone effect would speed up rendering drastically when that is all I need.

You could publish Motion’s Color Balance filter to FCPX. That would give you RGB sliders for highlights, mids, and shadows – and if you click on the colour swatches you can use Apple’s Colour picker as a colour wheel of sorts.

April 22, 2013 at 4:01 pmMoods looks interesting but I need numerical RGB entry for times when a DP wants me to dial in very specific adjustments (the kind that no-one else will see but him/her). 😉
Jeff’s suggestion of the color balance from Motion can work for that.

I agree that’s a dilemma. There is no guarantee these values have any validity in FCP X or any other application. CDL values are something else.
