  FCPX is really slow

  I have been using FCPX for a while now, I am learning as I go. I am currently working on a timelapse and FCP is getting slower and slower to the point now where it is just freezing. I have tried researching a solution and I think the problem is that everything is on the same hard drive. From reading other forums I am to the conclusion that I need to set my scratch disk to an external hard drive however I could not find the system preferences to change the scratch disk and I have just read a post which said that you can’t do this in FCPX. I am really confused now, and desperate to get my mac working quicker again. Any suggestions?

  1) Hook up external disk to computer

  2)In FCPX go to file > Move Event

  3) Move your Projects as well

  4) Done

  Whilst transfer goes on, open FCPX manual for a good read 😉
