  • Compound Clips – possible to move from timeline to event?

Posted by Dan Silber on September 26, 2012 at 8:22 am

    Hi,

I know that I can create compound clips in the timeline or the events browser.

But is it possible to MOVE a compound clip created in the timeline to an event?

This would be very useful for syncing clips in the timeline first and moving them to the events browser later.

    Thanks!

    Right now, you can’t.

The only workaround is to select the clips on your timeline (project) copy them to your clipboard (command+c), create a new compound clip in your event and then paste the clipboard (command+v).

Unfortunately, no. But if you start in the Event, you can move them to the timeline.

So, create a compound in the Event then do all of your syncing there.

It’s a crazy omission by Apple, but hopefully they’ll fix it at the same time as they improve the performance of compound clips
