I have a projects with many video tracks layered on top of each other.

I use different blend modes, but mostly just set to add.

    Sometimes the transitions are fine.

But mostly right at the beginning of a new track of video it cuts in when it should be smooth transition.

Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

What are your system specs? Have you tried setting playback to “better performance” to see if that makes a difference?

    thanks.

Some say you can just keyframe opacity (haven’t tried yet), but then you’re limited to dissolve only.

    Compound the clip(s) first.
