croping image from clip
How do I remove an image of someone who is standing behind the central image of the clip? I have tried the crop tool, but that seems to function on the whole clip.

Thanks for responding. Here is the image.
I will crop the front and sides of the image so the little girl in front is gone, but the problem is with the woman standing to the right and behind the surprised woman in the red jacket. I want to mask the background woman out.

I hate to be the one to tell you this…but this isn’t going to happen…or may not be easy enough to be worth your time.
As a still, I’d have to use some of the sophisticated photoshop tools to clone out the woman, reconstructing the door and wall. Photoshop (starting, I think in CS5) had a great feature called “content aware fill” which intelligently clones other material in…but this image probably can’t take too much advantage of that.
If it’s a piece of video, you’re in for even rougher times, as doing one frame might be possible, but making sure the change is consistent from frame to frame gets into ugly concepts like pixel chatter.
I might try to use some of the color correction tools in FCPX to dim the woman to the right and darken the rest of the frame so your focus was on the woman who you’re trying to keep the audience focused on, rather than trying to crop her out.

Can you (on a still) draw a mask around the foreground woman? Yes. How about for video? Sure – it’s an animated mask.
Can you clone in the wall/door? Nope.

Are you working with a still, or are you working with video? I was under the impression that you are working with a still image (pulled from video).
I’m not particularly aware of any special deals. Typically when shopping online looking for a deal, I’ll do a Google search and click “shopping results” then sort by price. Then check Ebay, Amazon and relevant online retailers for the best price. (I recently found a new AJA Ki Pro, 250GB HDD and the Exo-skeleton for $2100 shipped with this method, loving it!)

Except for the promotion code “switch” for 50% off Production Premium, coming to ~$850 or so. Photoshop alone is more than that… Better hurry on that though, “switch” promotion ends in a day or two, I think (and for real this time!).
