Tell me I’m not going crazy… trim tool used to give us timecode?
I specifically remember being able to use either the trim tool, or the blade tool to hover over a clip in the timeline and see the source timecode in the display instead of the timeline timecode.
It doesn’t do that anymore. I can’t see in the manual where I might be able to turn that back on.
And I’m wondering why on earth they would have made that go away when there was nothing wrong with the way it worked.

I seem to remember something like that. But I’m getting confused by the iteration of bugs between the various updates.
However to find the timecode of any particular clip whether from the Event Browser or Timeline select ‘open clip in timeline’ and the original timecode for that particular clip is display in the centre timecode display.
As far as I can see its only possible to get the floating skimmer timecode display in the Event viewer by either selecting in the view menu – or cmd Y

Well, that sucks. Could they have been getting complaints about the timecode/hover with the trim and blade tools? How does that just disappear.
It’s like running to the store because you’re out of milk, coming back to find that someone stole your spoon, and now you have to eat your cereal with your fingers.
It was a function I actually used! Grrrrrr.
Perhaps if they make the “show skimmer info” work in the timeline as well, with the source timecode, not the timeline timecode. Or just bring back back the source-timecode hover for the blade and the trim tools.
And I think you meant control-Y.

Looks like I need to use a different phrase to refer to being confused and out of it. (as in my previous post). Didn’t mean to cause anyone to stumble.

You are not seeing things. The clip timecode used to be displayed when skimming with the Trim tool activated.
