  Crop-fit not working

  I’m new to FCPX…. I tried using the Crop-Fit function (which scales up the image inside the crop rectangle to fill the frame), and it worked fine a couple of days ago. Today, I believe I did exactly the same thing but this time the scaling up is not happening. Instead, I’m left with a black area around the image crop area.

  Any suggestions?

  It turns out that I apparently used Trim Mode unintentionally (through fat fingering…) and slipped the image so it was not occupying the full frame but had slipped down and to the left. The cropping scaled it correctly but it was down and to the left without me realizing it.

  I hope this makes sense in case anyone else hits this apparent issue.
