  • What’s the easiest way to sync audio and video in FCP X?

I’m editing a music video but man the sync is painful. Whats you method? Lol I wish there was a magic button to press to automatically sync my clips with the audio files.

My method is I move the video clip manual until I think it matches up with the audio clip. Is this what you guys do?

    Thx in advance

[Jay Craig] “I wish there was a magic button to press to automatically sync my clips with the audio files.”

Do consider reading the help files and watching some of the many free tutorials online.
Select audio and video clips (assuming the video has scratch audio)
    Clips>Synchronize Clips

    Craig,

Thx for replying. I see plenty of tutorials about using the clip sync feature but i dont see any on using it with a music video. If I’m editing a music video with numerous clips how would I do that? based on my attempts I’m not able to clip sync on my timeline. It only allow me to do it in the event section

Yes, it must be done in the event section but that creates a Compound clip which you can certainly edit. Granted it’s awkward but it does work.
