    Greetings,

I’m having a strange color issue using FCPX & Motion 5. I’m building clips in motion 5 and cutting them together in FCPX. I’m then outputting a native quicktime video from FCPX. Here is what is happening:

    1) If exported quicktime is played in Quicktime X or Quicktime Pro 7, the color matches the fcpx timeline perfectly.

    2) If the quicktime is played in another player (mpeg streamclip), the greens in my video shift from lime to kelly green. It’s a substantial change.

    3) If I make an H264 of the quicktime master using Telestream Episode 6, the same problem occurs. Quicktime players show the greens in the H264 as intended, all other players (VLC, mpeg streamclip, elmedia player) display a very different green color.

Any ideas how I might correct for this? I have seen previous posts dealing with gamma shifts and color differences between video players, etc. This issue seems less subtle than the examples included in those discussions, and the “wrong green” displayed by every video player other than quicktime is the exact same “wrong green”.

    Any ideas?

    UPDATE:

If I open the exported quicktime in quicktime pro 7 and check “enable final cut studio color compatibility” then the color shifts to the “wrong green.”

In other words, the color looks right with this NOT selected.
