  • Maximum Project Duration?

Hi there — I’ve yet to start dabbling with FCP X, and searches within this forum and the web-at-large haven’t revealed what the maximum duration of a project timeline is in FCP X. I know in FCP 7 it’s 12 hours.

I have a project with about 100 hours of 720p footage captured from a GoPro camera mounted in my car on a recent coast-to-coast roadtrip.

This personal project alone is enough to convince me to give FCP X a go, if it can handle longer projects…

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,
    -greg

Seems to be infinity and beyond. Took a generator clip and kept trimming right, could have gone forever I think. Timeline clock is just that, a 24 hour clock. When you get to 23 59 59 29 it goes to zero (adjust for frame rate :] )

    Best,
    Geoff

    Thanks Geoff, for your test…

I’d be curious if anyone has imported media longer than 12 hours, but it sounds like the 12:00:00;00 limitation might be no longer.

    Best,

    Greg,

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but do you want to import 12+ hours of media into your timeline at one time?
