A question out of curiosity… As more post projects are either on hold, cancelled, or being finished from home, are any of you or your companies rethinking workflows, especially the choice of NLE that you use?

I know subscriptions rub a lot of folks here the wrong way, but in many cases for companies, this means you may be paying a month or more for multiple workstations that are sitting idle. Adobe and others have offered some adjustments, but this does bring up the question of ownership versus subscription – especially with inexpensive (or free) options, like FCPX, Resolve, Vegas, etc. Also Motion, Fusion, or HitFilm, versus AE or Nuke.

    Thoughts?

For staff editors or long term contract editors working in a corporate environment, it’s a simple matter of logging into another machine with the corporate username/password so there would be no added cost to working from home.

This is actually one of the better aspects of the subscription model. The license isn’t necessarily locked to only one computer in one location.
