I have my main comp which is 4:30 mins long. The resolution is 1024×576. I am wanting to output this so it will run continously in a loop (using something like windows media player) on a Pc as part of a window display. I therefore need maximum resolution and quality, but also not a ridiculously large file that might make it stutter on the average Pc.

    Any advice?

    Cheers

The Windows Media Codec (WM9?) is surprisingly nice and playable, but if I recall, you can only render it from AE on Windows. Probably AE 6.5.

And test it on the playback PC. Test early, test often.

Halving the frame rate always helps too. 15 fps isn’t too bad on a computer. It kinda depends on the computer it will be playing on. For example, the computer I’m typing on right now would in no way handle full-screen full-frame video playback. The one just down the corridor, on the other hand, can deal with it just fine.
