  “alt+[” or “alt+]” not working

  hello

  I’m having a problem with the trim shortcut. the manual says alt+] trims the out-point of a layer. but whenever I do that it simply doesn’t work. not with the left sided alt or the right sided alt.

  is this a know issue? I’ve done some google and searched the forums here and found one post where the alt+[ didn’t work but that was due to the alt button malfunctioning. here this is not the case.

  yes on both questions.

  but I found what the shortcut is I was trying different combinations
  and after a while I found that here it’s ctrl+alt+, for the out and ctrl+shift+, for the inpoint.

  actually I’m mistaken. these shortcuts timestretch the layer to the place where the timeline cursor is.

  so the problem still remains.

  If you’re working with a non-US/GB keyboard this could be the problem. On Windows I have to change my language settings to EN from Danish, then I can use Alt-å and Alt-¨ to set in and out points.

  They just happen to be the two keys to the right of the P key, so correspond to where [ and ] would be on a standard English keyboard.

  Could that be the issue?
