Activity Forums Adobe After Effects HDV in AE

Rendering out an avi (std. def. size) to use in AE from a sequence in PPro was like render sequence to an AVI and import the AVI file in to AE, do the AE stuff/Plug-ins and render out of AE again, then import the rendered AE time-line back to PPro to encode it for DVD or other.

There might be an easiler workflow, which I am all ears, however, my real question is now that I have HD footage and timeline/sequence and I want to do some AE stuff to it, how do I get the HD sized video file to AE. How do I render the timeline/sequence as a HDV file to work in AE? I tried pulling in the timeline/sequence into AE, but it broke all the clips back out separately/individually and place them in to AE, like it was telling me that I was going to have to reassemble all the edited clips back together. Maybe that is what I am suppose to do, but I am/was looking for an easiler solution. Maybe it ain’t possible, but if there is another or better way of getting the HDV video timeline in to AE, I would love to know.

I get the stock answer #1, but can you suggest a different codec that will work. Thanks.

You can import your Premiere timeline directly into AE.
No need to render out a separate file.
