Hi, I’m a noob in After Effects, but fortunately I have time to learn
I have the After Effects CS4, I’m trying to make a video-album, maybe 15 or 20 photos, it’s not neccesary to be a very professional work but is for my sister birthday (sweet sixteen), and I want to give my best.

I particulary like something like this: (after 22 seconds)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dfr2qfL2ro

I research a little bit and I discover than that kind of effects are made with an Evolution DVD but in the web of the author said that is for CS3 and i have CS4, my first question is, Evolution effects will work in CS4? or could I download a trial of CS3 for this work?

Another thing, I particulary don’t know anything about the Evolution DVD, if you know it: could you explain my if it’s like a video-tutorial, or is like a template or pre-design effects?
(if you tell me that are predesign templates, I will be very happy but seems that in After Effects, all is more complicate, (but with better results))

At last, what do you recommend me to get a video like the one I show? please consider that I’m just learning, and maybe I won’t understand if you talk me about very professional stuff.

Thank you for read this post, I hope you can help me, or recommend me another way of get a good photo-clip for my sister.

    Thanks.

Evolution is a product produced by VideoCopilot.net. There are video demonstrations of the product there which should help you. I believe the elements are QT videos, so there shouldn’t be a problem using the files with CS4. Either way, CS3 project files can be converted to CS4 format.

It might be a difficult task for a beginner, but try following the ‘fancy title plate’ tutorial on videocopilot.net.

Well I did it, it took me an afternoon to achieve it, and i still can’t use the camera but its already in 3d, i can see it using the camera angle, but i can record the camera movements

but i think i realize that a work like the one i show in the first post, will took me an eternity and never with the same quality, that’s because i think i will to give up

so i want to ask to the professionals in this, what other program do you recommend me to get a good looking photoclip, but with less things to do? or with more template designs

i used the muvee autoproducer, but i want something with more effects

To achieve something very similar to the Evolution content, try this tutorial by Jayse Hansen:
Growing Design Elements in After Effects.
It’s done using an earlier version of AE, but will still work in CS4.

Well I saw it, but I think that I’m done with after effect because I’m a complete noob and this work is kind of important, well I will try to do my best and if the result isn’t very good then we will pay for someone who do it.

I would like to prove a program like the muvee autorpoducer, and because you are expert in the animation stuff, I want to know is someone know of some software like this..

I thought in Pinnacle, but I don’t know.

Sorry if me asking about another software different that after effects is anoying but mmmm i really try with after effects and well is obviouly i can’t achive a professional result with the time i have left.
