  Alpha Channel

  Hi,

  I wonder is it possible to save a video in aftereffects with an alpha channel, then import this video in premiere and achieve a transparency of this video… I hve never been using the alpha channel, maybe this is very simple thing but I cant work it out…

  Yes, you can do this. Add your comp to the render queue and then modify the output module settings. In the dialogue box, set the channels dropdown menu to RGB + alpha. For some codecs this option is unavailable: try rendering a lossless avi or a QT animation. Anyway, seeing as you plan to work further in Premiere, it makes sense to use a lossless codec.

  Thanks for your respond. I have already worked it out a bit another way. Everyting I did Was just render with ‘Loseless with Alpha’ output module and that’s working well enought for me for now. But I will surele watch these tutorials.
