a friend of mine gave me a few presets one of them is called dv_noisr_fixer.ffx and i can not figure out where to place it to get it to show up in my effects and presents panel. Can somebody help? Also can anyone recommend a good tutorial for chroma keying in AE?

Drop the .ffx files in you Presets Folder (Programs>Adobe>AfterEffects…) then start up AE. Select a layer, Animation>Apply preset will give you a box to navigate to the presets.

    Windows:

    C:>Program Files>Adobe>Adobe After Effects CS3>Support Files>Presets

Change CS3 to 7.0 or whatever version you’re in, or just go hunting for the right place. You’ll need to restart AE, or right-click on the presets panel and refresh the list, to get them to appear if you already have the programme open.

Keying: You can search here at the cow for topics like junk / garbage matte, light spill etc.
