April 2, 2013 at 6:17 pmhere’s a pretty good list of stuff they might get around to.
there’s the biggies like one project at a go, relinking nasties and that – also background rendering, smart rendering, use of preview files losslessly to speed up pro res output – all the general problems with exporting generally, the lack of an intermediate codec, even though they have actually coded one which they are using internally for adobe anywhere but will not release for user encdoding… sigh…
to be fair the track assignment is literally kind of insane, tool switching in the timeline can be a bit funky, and if I was going to be picky, the overall detail and design of the timeline, clip objects, and tool cursors lacks a lot of fit and finish.
Also the modal autosave, that even breaks in when the app is background feels a tad mad also.

“That’s what I’ve heard too. And, hasn’t it only been once that they’ve had a paid upgrade at a . release? So its not like they have a pattern of doing that. FCP did it for 4.5 as well.

“Agreed.

“I’d sure like this, as well.

April 2, 2013 at 11:53 pmYeah it’d be cool if the PPro engineering team was as good and responsive as the After Effects and Photoshop teams… sadly not the case when I was a beta tester for several revs…
Still hoping for improvements in audio, .mxf stability (audio being out of sync, shorter than video, slower than video on files that play perfectly in Sony Vegas), fixing the file-at-a-time relinking and I agree an Adobe codec is long overdue. A total redo of the color fx and 3-way color corrector is needed – everyone I know pretty much relies on Colorista II at this point which should be embarrassing for Adobe. Also simplify hardware output with AJA, Blackmagic etc. Always a pain just to set up a preview yet FCPX was automatic with same hardware.
