I teach 3D animation and use a Windows lab. I am creating an AE file that I need to get to my video teacher who uses Final Cut. When I export to avi (MS DV codec), I get great quality. When I export to a DV stream or QT using the DVCPro codec, I get very poor video quality. Why? I could give him a targa sequence but he would rather have a QT file. I even tried uncompressed and still got a huge file with poor quality. I had similar problems out of Premiere Pro (windows). Anyone have any ideas?

What is the FCP editor editing with.. i.e. WHAT sequence setting and Codec.

Animation would work.. but may result in extra rendering on other persons end
