  • Problem with “Scrub through the Timeline” preview

    Hello,
I’m running AE CS3 on a notebook with no graphic card (therefore no OpenGL). And till last week everything went fine. Previews were fine and when I grabbed the Current Time Indicator (CTI) I was able to scrub through the timeline seeing what is happening on the scene.
I have no idea if I did anything wrong, but this stopped working. I thought that reinstall of AE might fix it, but it didn’t.
When I grab the CTI and scrub through the Timeline nothing happens until I release the CTI – then image refreshes on the current time.

    – same goes for changing properties, effect values, etc… Nothing happens until I release hold.

Please help! I’m starting to get crazy…

It sounds like you accidentally turned Live Update off. Make sure that you have enabled the 2nd icon from the left at the top of the timeline (just above the layer stack). It looks like a box with a cross in it laid over another box.
