    anyone got any tips on how to make a travelling shock wave in After Effects? Like the one seen here:

    also, anyone know how to do spherical expanding shockwaves? or are they only possible in dedicated 3D programmes like Maya?

    Im not too sure but try animating a circular mask expanding outward rotate it on the x-axis accordinly.Duplicate original footage and then add a displacment map to your mask with the dupliated layer as your displace source. Again i would need to look into this myself but it is 3:30am here and my head is a bit mush.Hope this helps you in some way
