So, last night I had a dream that kinda freaked me out, and was also rather amusing.

I dreamed that Adobe was acquired by Nvidia.

After finding out about it, I remember I went to the Adobe website, and it said Nvidia had acuired them- and that’s pretty much all it said, which is what freaked me out. There was no info anywhere about Adobe’s products, and nothing was said about whether they planned to continue to support any of them- only that the company had been taken over.

I remember I then tried to calm down a bit and told myself, “Ok, I’m sure it won’t be as bad as it seems. They’re not gonna just drop everything- that would be crazy. From the Premiere Pro standpoint, this could actually be really good- If there’s still going to be a Premiere Pro. I imagine the Mercury Engine will be a lot more optimized and will work even better now. Well, for CUDA cards anyway. Good luck getting good OpenCL support on the AMD cards!”

Don’t lose sleep over it, ADBE (~$15B as of 7/20/12 close) has double the market cap of NVDA (~$7B as of 7/20/12 close).

    Best,
    Andy

And what is Sears acquired Adobe – man…there’d be an NLE in the video panel of every Kenmore refrigerator. I could edit while I browsed the fridge for yesterday’s hot dogs!

Joe. I would love Adobe Bridge in my fridge. Those hotdogs would go well with a side(car) of XMP. I don’t know whether my wife would agree with my 1-5 star ratings, but thumbnails could be cool and there’s no doubt that creation date is important metadata for sorting leftovers.
