  • Apple withdraws standard 5% Business Discount on Retina MBP in UK

In what seems a particularly mean spirited manner Apple have withdrawn their standard 5% Business Reduction on Retina MBP in UK.

This is normally offered to business customers via Apple stores and online representatives.

Whilst this is not a huge discount for loyal customers it is a welcome one in the current depressed marketplace and its withdrawal on the grounds that ‘ this is a very sought after product’ is particularly unwelcome.

We have just received this discount on a new MacBook Air and on setting up a Retina mbp order I was informed that it had been withdrawn for this product.

I wonder if this situation is mirrored in the US or other marketplaces?

Mac rumours reported on the 24th June that ‘Apple last week also launched new employee hardware discounts of $500 off of a Mac or $250 off of an iPad, on top of existing 25% employee discounts’

Whilst I can’t begrudge rewarding hard working Apple store employees it would be nice to see the company maintaining it’s largesse to long serving and extremely loyal customers.
