Help me with the heartbreak of edge flutter
Messy football footage. Resorted to rotoscoping with Vector Paint after hours of failing pull a key by various means. It’s a dang shame that doing it the long, hard way doesn’t always give you better results than pulling a fast key. Oh well.
1) Is there anything I can apply to reduce/eliminate this edge flutter?
2) Is there anything I SHOULD have done in my vector painting that would have reduced/eliminated it?
BTW, I SWEAR it was a good job of painting; my numb wrist attests to the effort. Not sure why I have so much flutter. Ugh.

I prefer masks, not necessarily animated every frame, but only at extreme positions, rotations and shapes, kind like, er, keyframes. 🙂 Also, it’s a good idea to draw separate masks for shapes that don’t deform if you can.
… and sometimes you can key part of the image so you don’t have to roto the whole thing.
In other words, I can’t see a way to eliminate flutter on hand-painted roto if you need it to have a sharp edge.
