I searched through the forums and couldn’t find anything that solved my issue. Currently I’m running AE 7.0 on an offline box that I had no hand in designing.

    As far as specs go:

    Opteron 2.8ghz
    2gig RAM
    Creative X-Fi Soundblaster
An ATI Radeon card of some sort.

Okay, I’ve got a WAV file in the work area and I’m only getting levels when I RAM preview. Still I get levels, but no sound. I’ve scrubbed, pressed the “.” on the keypad, made sure that all of my layer and preview selections were correct and I’m still not getting any sound.

At this point I’m beginning to think that there’s some sort of communication problem between AE and the sound card, but a quick perusal of the controllers suggests that the sound card is working fine.

    Any ideas?

Thanks again for all of the help.
