  Something like a scatter brush

  Hey CC –
  New to AE, so this may be a simple solution. I’m trying to find something in AE that will replicate the kind of effect a scatter brush in Photoshop is giving me – randomized opacity, size, rotation, etc, with a custom shape.

  I’ve checked out the Shatter plugin and it seems to kind of be what I want, but I don’t think it’s exactly it.

  Ideally, I want to explode a solid fill into bunches of pieces (in this case a custom leafy shape) that fly toward the camera in 3D space, with randomized opacity, size, etc.

  Is this asking a lot?

  Take a look at Prticle systems as well

  Shatter isn’t bad either…

  or combine the two
