  • Exporting w/ alpha channel in after effects

Im trying to export a logo I made in after effects 7 while keeping the alpha channel.
As far as I know the only way to do this is with the Animation codec…. but this codec behaves very wierd when watched on a tv or when inported into Final Cut Pro.
Are there any other ways to do this???

    thanks

I always use Animation codec when rendering out with an alpha… and never have any problems with using it in FCP (or DVD authoring etc)… maybe because animation is still a very large file your hard drives can’t read it fast enough?

or you could try rendering out uncompressed … i can’t think of other codecs that support alphas at the moment, but I’m sure if you google/wiki it you find a few

Add it to your FCP timeline and render… then it will play fine….

Make sure your timeline settings match your intended output (DV, 8 bit etc)
