align footage to actual time mark
Dropping footage into the timeline places always at start point 0. Is there a trick to align the footage to the actual time marker curson position? I searched and found an answer from Andrew Kramer, saying “[” would adjust it to actual time mark. Does not work on my version (AE CS3, localised german version).
Any hint?

“[” should do it…. make sure you have the timeline marker where you want it and that the timeline window is selected.

If you drop the footage item into the left portion of the Timeline panel, the new layer will either start at the composition start time or at the current time, depending on whether the Create New Layers At Composition Start Time preference is selected (in the General category of preferences).
If you drop the footage item into the right portion of the Timeline panel (the time graph itself), then the new layer starts at the time determined by the pointer position when you release the mouse button; you’ll see a time needle in the time ruler that shows where the In point will be.

Changing the preferences and dragging into the preview-window rather than directly into the timeline has solved the problem.best wishes
